Paying it Forward is about Love Connections, but not in the way you might be thinking! I am not a matchmaker when it comes to putting couples together forever, but when it comes to "fixing people up" in my business world, I'm ALL OVER IT, whether it's matching needs or sharing ideas that will make someone money.
One"Love Connection": our Firewise Community at Fishhawk Lake is having our semi-annual clean-up of dead limbs, etc. around our community to help keep our coastal range properties (that are surrounded by trees and forestation) firesafe. It's not to raise money, just to help keep our accredidation as one of the few Firewise Communties in the Pacific Northwest and we have certain things we have to do to keep that up.

Okay, that being said, I have recently met an arborist who owns his own company and he wants to gain business in this area, specifically Fishhawk Lake, where I reside and do real estate. So, I got him connected with our committee, he's going to bring a chipper and donate his time that day as well as do any consulting for neighbors(free of charge that day) who may have some potentially hazardous trees in their surroundings or on their properties. Luke Colvin is his name, and he owns Arbor Care Tree Specialists. Luke also was a volunteer firefighter with experience in wildfires. Our community at Fishhawk Lake has gotten lucky in finding him and he has already had some of the committee members talk about hiring him!

I got a call earlier this week from an associate of an Active Rainer who follows my blog, and had commented on my photos. Billi Evans http://activerain.com/blogs/gayleatfishhawklake/view/2193302, sent Mike Jackson my way to find out what kind of camera I use because she was praising my photographs and he was asking my opinion. That prompted me to send some e-mails and do some research because I'm in dire need of a new camera and hadn't decided on one yet.
Billi commented on one of my recent posts about my listing of this Victorian: http://activerain.com/blogsview/2193302/victorian-home-for-sale-in-mist-oregon-history-and-photos-part-ii
Enter My second "Love Connection",(ALSO another Rainer), Keeya Jones who's a graphic designer/website master/teacher and lovely person, has guided me on some choices for a new Canon, along with Michael Thornton, another gifted Rainer. As Keeya and I spoke, we got some creative thinking going, and I suggested closing gift ideas that she could put together for realtors that would be EXCELLENT for our buyers. She is SO excited about it that she couldn't wait to put her thoughts to paper this weekend. She is helping me with copyrighting my photos of Fishhawk Lake as well as getting some printed for my home office and that's how we got started with this idea sharing. I look forward to what she will come up with that all of us Active Rainers can capitalize on for closing gifts.
My friend, and business associate (and newest creative genius to add to my roster)http://activerain.com/blogs/kimajinstudios
I will also try to get back with Mike Jackson on my findings and pay it forward to him as well, then maybe he can make his own "Love Connections"!
