Free to Breathe Lung Cancer 5K was held this morning in Lake Charles! This is a special event because many of those I am close to have lost family members to lung cancer. Never take for granted the breath we take in and out each day, it is truly a gift!
Runners were glad for the cloud cover this morning and a few of my friends finished the race in very good time! This year the Free to Breathe event was in memory of Mary and Ed Thompson. My husband and I very good friends with Eric Thompson their son and Erin Thompson their daughter. Not to mention that Mary Thompson was also a REALTOR at Century 21 Mike D. Bono & Co.'s! Eric now lives in Los Angeles, CA and is the entertainment attorney for FOX, however Lake Charles will always be his home!
Congratulations to Team Thompson who raised over $8,000 this year!

Lake Charles residents and volunteers showed great support of Free to Breathe this year. It's always great to see the community turn out for these events and the Lake Charles runners were happy that the humidity was low this morning too!
