Referrals are an agents best friend!

Have I mentioned how much I love referrals?- I was just listening to a song from a movie my family is watching in another room "Diamonds are a Girls best friend" and I was thinking how How "Referrals are an agents best friend."

My wife and I spent the day with a wonderful couple that were referred to us from another agent that found us on ActiveRain. We were out most of the day today and I will spend tomorrow with them as well, getting them acclimated to the suburbs surrounding Denver. Pointing out the finer and lesser known features of many of the areas we are showing homes in, many things that will not show up in the MLS or in public records or in too many other places for that matter. As a 50 year resident of Denver, I have been in every nook and cranny, I have eaten at some of the most incredible tucked away restaurants and played golf on some of the best kept secrets in the area. I know who the best mechanics are and who the best dentist is, I know the best person to see when you need a tattoo removed.

The beauty of a referral is that we have already been interviewed, or at least highly recommended and there is never even a need to give a listing or buyer presentation, we get to skip all of the pomp and circumstance (timely eh?) and do what we do best, help clients find what they are looking for while educating them on the area, we do not need to have a polished spiel on why we are the "ones". Instead, we just get to work and take care of our clients and those that referred them which creates an ongoing referral cycle.

I know that there are some new websites out there that are posting ratings on Realtor performances, and all I can say is that it is about time. I think if more agents were rated and held accountable we would be more highly regarded as professionals. We welcome these types of ratings and know that they were a big reason why we have been selected as a 2011 Five Star Real Estate Agent for 5280 Magazine.  We are in a group of less than 7% of the Denver area real estate agents who are selected based on our exceptional service and overall satisfaction as indicated by clients, peers and industry experts.  Pretty Exciting!  Five Star Professional and 5280 Magazine partnered  together to identify this elite group of agents.  We are both honored and pleased.

Referrals are the only way to go, I have spent thousands on markleting to get leads that go nowhere, but one lunch with a good friend and I get a great referral, plus I love meeting with friends.
