Wordless Wednesday - So Are You Still Liking It?

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Real Estate Centre Inc., Brokerage

I've been living the rural life for 4 months now and people are always asking me if I'm still enjoying it.  I have to tell them that I still pinch myself (well not literally) when I'm driving down the backroads into town.

No matter what the weather there is always something amazing to see.  Whether it's the sky, birds, fields, ponds or just the quiet roads.

Do I miss the traffic and pollution from the city?  Hmm let me think on that one.

Here is a field just down the road from my house.  I love taking photos of it.

Back roads Ontario

The skies got dark and it started to rain all around us.  It missed is though.

I love my new surroundings.

Ahhh I am jealous...My wife grew up on a gravel road and I knew before we were married that she would not live in the country and drive ravel...so we live in town and back up to an alfalfa field...almost got what I wanted.

Your area looks gorgeous and a lot like my area!! Enjoy!

Hi Jenny,

I get the love for the country lifestyle, until we have the business running itself we will be stuck in our part of paradise near the big city of Victoria.

Love your pictures, they do always have a story very cool.

Hi Jenny - One of the nice things about my area is that I can get the best of both worlds - one side of the street can be farm country for miles and the other side of the street is as urban as can be

Jenny, we live in a small city, about 30,000.  I moved from the Metropolitan Salt Lake City area, and I don't miss much of it.  We have also lived in Las Vegas for a short time, the conveniences of the large cities are nice, but living where 5 minutes in any direction more or less and you're into wide open spaces is worth giving up on the conveniences!

Jenny,

I know it's a return to the rural life for you. I don't think I could do it mye=self, although I'd like to try.

Jenny, I completely empathize with you.  When I lived full time in Northern Illinois, each home I bought took me farther from the congestion of Chicago.  My home in Illinois now is surrounded by cows, corn and horse farms...and I love it.  I've posted a few photos of that area before...maybe it's time to do another post about the area I miss.

Just around the corner from me they will bale the hay in the fall and Southfork Ranch is across the street so I am blessed to see a little of both worlds. One day I would like to have more of yours though. Driving the freeway to Raincamp reminded me why I did not want to be in the city.
