The Rock House - a local venue for young bands - My youngest son is a musician, and fortunately for him there is a safe place to play in Littleton that caters to the young crowd, mostly the High school through college age crowd. I love that he is finding his passion early at 16 years old his band The Fairgrounds has performed a half dozen concerts in the past 6 months including a fund raiser that raised over $1,000.00 for an orphanage in Ghana.
What I love about the venue is that it is owned by The South Fellowship Church, Young Life has been meeting here regularly for years and the crowd that typically shows up for these events is not so much the party crowd, but the crowd that is looking for a safe drug free environment to do what kids love to do, hang out and listen to music.
As parents of a 16 year old in a rock band I could not be happier with the location, we enjoy listening to our son play and it is amazing how better they get each performance, last night was fantastic, they rocked The Rock House and actually were invited to play at a larger location in a couple weeks, The Fairgrounds will be the opening act for Calling Out West, a local Indie band that has a pretty good following at Moes on 3295 S Broadway on June 11.
This has been such a great experience for my son, last night there were several people that were fist timers to their music as well as those of us that have not missed a show, all were very impressed, even his older brothers who had know idea they were this talented.
Call me a proud papa, and thank you to The Rock House for providing this safe place for local teens to hang out.
