Flying Home to Pegasus Airpark

Back in the 1950s and ‘60s, futurists liked to tell us that someday we would all be traveling around in flying cars, maybe Flying Home to Pegasus Airpark. Flying Home to Pegasus Airpark While the technological exuberance and optimism that dominated the national mood in those times did not prove prescient in this case, the idea of the flying car stuck in people’s imaginations, and no one ever quite forgot it because it was such a cool idea.

Even though they never gave us flying cars, however, forward-thinking developers did give us something else that is pretty exciting. If you are a pilot and you own your own plane, you could actually live in a place where it is possible to fly anywhere you want at anytime from literally your own backyard. And when you fly back home again, you could park your plane right outside in your own personal hangar.

This kind of unique settlement is usually referred to as an airpark, or a fly-in community, and there are now several of them all around the United States. With private lots surrounding a central runway, airparks cater to those who love flying and dream of organizing their daily existence around an airborne lifestyle. Airpark living makes getting around by airplane easy and convenient – maybe not quite as easy as a flying car would be, but it is certainly the next best thing.

Living the Dream of Flight in Arizona

Pegasus Airpark would be a great choice for anyone who loves the idea of living and flying high and free in a beautiful desert landscape. Located in the charming town of Queen Creek, the Circle G, Pegasus Airpark is made up of 186 lots of approximately one to one and one-third acre each, with 82 of those lots zoned for housing construction plus private airplane hanger. Shared hangar facilities are also available on-site for those who purchase one of the 104 sites reserved for custom-built housing only. The private runway at the center of Pegasus Airport serves the role of town square in this fantasy gated community, which is also easily accessible by automobile.

As if the stark glory of the desert were not enough of a picturesque setting, the nearby San Tan Mountains provide a majestic backdrop that frames the Airpark like a postcard come to life. The San Tan Regional Park is a well-known destination for riders, and the 104 lots at Pegasus not zoned for personal hangars were irrigated and designed especially to meet the needs of horse owners, who have direct access to a network of equestrian trails that ultimately leads into the San Tans. While the setting of Pegasus is small town/rural, a major freeway that offers direct access to the heart of downtown Phoenix is only 12 miles away.

Private lots are still available for anyone who would like to move to Pegasus Airpark and put up their own custom-designed abode. The amazing location really offers a little of everything, especially perhaps for those who would like to escape from harsh and forbidding winters. While most choose to buy a lot and construct the house of their dreams when they move to Pegasus, homes that have already been built sometimes do come on the market, and the relatively quiet housing market has made both kinds of offerings in the Airpark surprisingly affordable for most people.

While We Wait for the Flying Cars…

Flying Home to Pegasus AirparkMost people would like to live somewhere that is clean, safe, friendly, and infused with a strong community spirit. The Circle G, Pegasus Airpark offers all of these, plus unmatched natural beauty and easy access to one of America’s most exciting cities. Flying cars may have been a fanciful idea but the lifestyle that was promised by this fantastic concept has actually been brought to life in fly-in communities like Pegasus Airpark.  Let me help you find the property that will allow you to be Flying Home to Pegasus Airpark!

Shane, airpark communities or neighborhoods always fascinate me.  My homes each have one nearby and I've often thought about what it would be like flying and taxiing right to my private hangar attached to the home.  In a year it'd be safe to say 3 to 4 days of travel time could be saved.

I would think there are quite a few in FL as there are in AZ.  From small airparks to city airports, there are a lot of options for the home owner/retiree who is also a pilot.  3 to 4 days easy, I would think.
