Discovering the Hidden Pearls of Cancun

This is the first article in a series about getting to know the beachfront neighborhoods of Cancun in more detail. Cancun is merely 4 decades old and has many untouched areas.  The miles of beaches hold little known secrets that few venture out to discover. We start in the northern end of Cancun.  Ilsa Blanca is not actually an island but a peninsula.  The area of Isla Blanca sits 30 minutes north of downtown Cancun but feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle.  This quiet beach is beautifully laden with pearl white sand stretching far and unbroken by hotels.

To get there drive north on Avenida Bonampak past La Amada.  There lays a well maintained unpaved road continuing north.  As you drive along, take the time to experience the serenity of the jungle.  Just to the right is the pristine beach known as Isla Blanca.  Only Mother Nature could have dreamed up these sprawling white beaches dripping with beautiful vegetation.   The fresh ocean breeze is perfect complement to a sunny day.

For homeowner Larry Logan, he has great appreciation the area and all it has to offer.  "This is the perfect area to spend time away with the family on an unencumbered beach paradise.  It has been a pleasure to be a part of the burgeoning business and cultural community Cancun is known for.  Not to mention the location of the Yucatan peninsula makes for short flights to the US and other ports of business."

I only found out about this area when going to view a house we have just listed.  This beautiful white beach home stands majestically up on a hill surrounded in lush vegetation.   Just beyond the back of the house lays the vast expanse of white beach.  Few homes reside in the area thus the views are nothing short of spectacular in every direction.   I could not wait to look inside.   This home is perfectly designed to allow the home and nature to join in harmony.  Not a detail has been missed.   Huge German imported doors and windows open wide to let the tropical breezes dance through the airy rooms.  The kitchen and bathrooms are all dressed in their own individually hand crafted tile work.

The large office with great views is wired for internet and satellite TV making this perfect for the tele-commuter.  Not to mention this house has its own solar panels and three generators.  You will never notice you are far from a power grid.

There is even an artist's studio on the premises.  Whether it is painting, music or writing, I can only imagine the creative energy flowing through.  I could easily get lost viewing the natural surroundings.  Even the terraces wrap around so to catch every drop of scenery this area has to offer.   For those few lucky enough to own property in this area, I am envious.

Hi Mary-it is nice to find someone that shares my love for Mexico. When I first went to Cancun there were only 3 hotels! I have 2 homes in Mexico and love it! Are you familiar with Playa Del Carmen? That is one of my favs, growing like crazy but still love it.

What can I say, I love it too!! I've been through the Riviera Maya.  I really enjoy how each area has a little something different to offer.  I will blog about the other great areas soon.  If you are in the Cancun area, look me up.
