I love to read, all sorts of books, and yes I like a book, the tactile feel of it, historical novels, mysteries, business books and thrillers. When I read I get engrossed, I can see the story right before me, usually in color, I place faces on the characters and the story becomes like a movie as I read. Trudy accuses me of getting lost in a book, she can be talking to me and I just don't hear a thing I am so engrossed.
Recently, having read several great business books I took a turn to some lighter reading, it is summer and our yard and patio are a delight to sit and read and enjoy the sounds of the birds and the insects. (When you have sprayed yourself with bug spray at least.) Anyway, one of my sons was visiting and just finishing up a book called The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay excellent book, fabulously written excellent story. Then I started a Swedish Crime thriller called Three Seconds, very good, but it took me a little while to get into having been reading the other book, because the styles were so different, at first I thought it was OK, but not great; as I have got used to the style I realize it is a really good book, very edgy and dealing with some deeper issues.
That is the way house hunting can be, you can be so wrapped up in one house you miss the best details of the next home you go into, because you are still thinking of the first. It is much easier if you are in a development where all the houses are similar, you don't get distracted so much. But if you are looking at more quirky homes, homes with character, different styles, different neighborhoods, take your time, make sure you are really seeing everything the house and the neighborhood has to tell you, you may just miss something really good if you rush along to fast.
