You may not know it... but some of the best Drag shows in the country can be found in the Palm Springs area! There are more than
50 drag artists that work in the desert-- mostly for tips or just for fun!
Most artists offer a G-rated shows, impersonating Carol Channing, Barbara Streisand, Eartha Kitt, Julie Andrews, Celine Dion or the new favorite Lady Gaga. Many do their own singing, or combine it with lip-syncing and are popular with both straight and gay audiences.
Bella da Ball, one of Palm Springs' high-profile Drag show promoters, says that they get alot of Australians, Germans, and Canadians at their shows. Bella, who hosts a Tuesday night dinner revue featuring drag and cabaret acts, says at least 10 nightclubs or restaurants present shows featuring men performing in female costumes. Bella also is a regular on my 365 Things to do in the Palm Springs Area on facebook, and posts news about upcoming events!
