Tropical Storm Emily Dissipates Over Cuba - Appears to Not Threaten Florida Now

By
Real Estate Agent with CENTURY 21 Bill Nye Realty, Inc.

Tropical Storm Emily Today, 8/4/2011, Tropical Storm Emily more or less gave up the ghost as it passed by Haiti on its way to Cuba. It now appears that it will not be a serious threat to Florida. We could get some rain out of the tropical depression if it passes by, but the National Hurricane Center does not feel that we will get much more than that.

You can click on the map to the left to see a larger view.

Do keep in mind that sometimes conditions can change, even though that appears unlikely with Emily. But it pays to be alert and take cautious steps to prepare. Just in case! It would not hurt to keep an eye on the television news or at the National Hurricane Webpage whose link you will find lower in this post.

Much of my information comes from the National Hurricane Center. They follow tropical depressions, tropical storms, and hurricanes from birth to death. It can be a useful site to visit. If you would like to try it out, click on the following link: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov I suggest you "bookmark it" or "make it a Favorite" for future reference if you live in an area that can be affected by tropical storms or hurricanes. You will find it interesting and helpful to track the path of each storm. You can also download a Hurricane Tracking Map by clicking on the following link: TRACKING MAP

You can also find out how to prepare for hurricanes and other disasters at the following state site: http://www.floridadisaster.org/ Do not wait until a storm is upon us to prepare your home and family. Hopefully we will make it through 2011 with no major storms paying us a visit, but you never know. Better safe than sorry!

I invite you to visit my webpage at: http://www.jelwell.century21bnr.com/ where you will find links to many interesting sites dealing with real estate. You are always welcome there.

What a relief, John.  We wait to see what the next one will do.  We are having an Active Rain Meet Up in Tarpon Springs on September 7.  Let me know if you want more details.

It felt like a hurricane in Surprise AZ last night. Winds 50+ and dumping rain. We needed the rain not the wind. Many trees and power poles down.

I saw that Jeanne. Sadly, I will not be able to make it over to Tarpon Springs. Wish I could. Thanks for the invite in any case.
