Sounds way too scary for me!  I am terrified of snakes!  Sorry, I won't and wouldn't be able to attend that event!  :)  But as long as the kids have fun!

Oh how i loved the science museam when i was growing up. I will have to keep this one in mind for my little ones. I'm sure they will enjoy it every bit as much as I did! Thanks for the reminder.

Naoma - I do not care for snakes either.  It is probably a blast for the kids at Halloween.  Thanks for the comment.

Marchel - I believe your daughter would love this!  I think this is fantastic for kids of all ages!  I just wouldn't play with the snakes.  My older sone had a pet bald python and I didn't like it at all.  I didn't allow it in my house, he had moved out at the time.

Candy, we missed the pet snakes but she did have a pet tarantula and a pet millipede; although she had moved out before getting those also.  Someday she wants a reptile room in her house.  I'm just glad it will be her house and not mine.

Marchel - She is definitely the adventurer, and I love animals as much as the next person, but not the insect or bug types along with the snakes.  I would get a kick out of the cockroach races, as long as I didn't have to touch them.  That would be a hoot, and I can just see those little kids participating in those.  lol

Carole - I wouldn't particularly care for either, but if the cockroaches were in a jar I think I could dump them out.  Is actually very interesting for Halloween.  lol  I think these are those tree roaches that live in trees and fly.  They are not supposed to be the bad ones.  lol  They are quite large.

Candy, looks like a ghoulish good time !!!
I love the images you've included with this post. I've always wondered about those cockroach races....do they wear little numbers on their backs?

Jo - Too funny!  That is a good question, I suppose they must have some kind of identifying mark like numbers painted on them.  lol  Thanks for the nice comment.

Hi Candy,
I can deal with everything except the cockroaches and snakes up close and personal.  Do the kids choose a cockroach and cheer for it?  Does the winner get to take it home?  Ugh! LOL.    I am sure the kids will love the event.

Cynthia - I can only speculate on the cockroach, I am assuming they will not take them home.  lol  Not if they were my child!  lol  I bet the kids love it as well.

Houston Museum of Natural Science - Candy, do they still have those huge sphere fountains out front?  They were there before they became popular everywhere.

Robert - They did the last time I was there.  Yes, they had them in Houston before many places.  You have a good memory of Houston, Robert. Thanks for the comment.

This is funny. I was going to ask you how you feel about snakes, but I can tell from your comments! I actually like snakes and reptiles. Before I had my kids, I had a Chinese water dragon that slept on me at night! I would love to see some video of the cockroach races! This summer at the fair I think I got video of pig races. Very funny.

Bridget - Well, my 32 year old likes snakes, or he used to.  I have one opinion about them, and I will not say on here.  Seriously, I know they have their purpose, as do the Cockroaches I guess.  lol   AS for the Cockroach races, they would be too funny.  I have actually seen pig races.  We have the at the Houston rodeo every year.  I think little pigs are cute.  Was the funniest thing!
