Long Island Sellers | Maybe You Should Consider Staging to Sell Your Long Island Home

Are you almost ready to put your North Shore home on the market for sale?

Selling a home on The North Shore of Long Island doesn't have to be a struggle for you if your home is priced right and if it is also Staged to sell.

You may have wondered why some homes sell and others stay on the market for months or even years without a sale. Price is surely the most important factor in having your house sell quicker. Condition is next, and Marketing comes in third. But there is another way that may help sell a home faster ~ it's called Staging.

A Home Stager's goal is to create a space that is balanced and harmonious. Home staging can often result in selling a home faster and even for a higher price. With Home Staging, a seller needs to remove the personal aspect of their space to show off the homes best assets. It's a process of decluttering, organizing, and planning. It's creatively using your own pieces along with well chosen additions to update and make it more inviting.

The Stager will evaluate the placement of your furniture and accessories. It may just be incorporating the best features of your home with little investment for a larger monetary gain. With our listings here on The North Shore Of Long Island, if the homeowner agrees, we can enlist a professional stager to make sure that the home will show at it's very best in the photos and showings. It's giving a tired space a new facelift.

If you are really ready to sell your North Shore Of Long Island home, Staging is a proven way to get top dollar for your home as you prepare it for sale. It's an edge over the competition.

Houses sell everyday ~ why not yours too!

We've seen it time and again from the stagers who blog on AR, their work WILL make a difference in how a home shows.

Michael, We totally agree that Staging a Home makes a huge difference and one that we highly recommend!

Anita, Yes the Stagers who show us their before and after photos here in The Rain certainly are proof that Staging works!

Gita, Of course the right price is first and foremost, but Staging it too is a win-win situation for all!

Staging would make a great difference in a lot of homes, Sheila, but I have a hard time convincing folks to do it.

Larry & Sheila, staging a home DOES make all the difference at times, and something to consider especially if it is vacant!

Larry and Sheila,  whatever it takes to get it sold, right?  If it is lingering, there has to be a reason.

Toni, It's not an easy sell with the homeowners who all think their homes are nicer than the neighbors...but staging does work!

Joan, We agree about vacant homes...staging totally transforms the way a house sells!

Ron, Yes and we all know what that reason is...price, price, price, but Staging can and does help!

Just before staging it, have a pre-listing inspection done so that you can (1) disclose defects while pricing more appropriately, (2) repair the defects, which usually will make you more money in the long run since you get to choose the repair person and you have more time to do it, (3) disclose defects while providing three professional quotes to repair the bigger defects. Everything I've ever read indicates that homes with pre-listing inspections sell for more money, sell faster, and have fewer problems during escrow.

Happy Friday!

If you have traffic from your marketing efforts, staging is so important.  I often read Karen Bernetti's blog as she is a stager and has some fantastic ideas.  Her book is very good.

I couldn't agree more. I recently asked one of my stager friends here in the Rain if they would call one of my clients and share some thoughts. She did. The home had been receiving some not so wonderful feedback. Once my client followed my stager friend's advice, the very next showing we received an offer! Does staging work? You can bank on it.

Hi Guys.  Many of the sellers we meet won't hire a stager.  Not sure why.  So I do what I can to make some suggestions to help them along the way.  Hmmmm  maybe I should be charging for that.  Have a great weekend.

Craig, That's what friends are for ~ Sounds like she gave excellent advice!

Belinda, It is hard to convince everyone to use a Stager, but bet you have some of your own gret ideas!

I had a condo staged back in January and it was in escrow in just four days. Unfortunately, BofA and PNC totally mess things up, so it is now back on the market. The seller doesn't want to stage it again, which could be why it's now been back on the market for six weeks!

Jim, Staging does work, but we unfortunately cannot convince our homeowners of its benefits all the time!

Well said.

Staging is one of those things that gives many homes a competitive advantage. Put your best foot forward.
