An Attitude of Gratitude – Christ Clinic Katy Texas
When I read the Active Rain Contest requirements I first thought about creating a blog highlighting the Sunshine Kids . I previously worked for Prudential Gary Greene and Sunshine Kids is the Charity of their choice to assist and it is also the Charity of choice for Craig Biggio former Houston Astros great. The more I thought about this blog I realized the Sunshine Kids is a great organization (Mission is to assist children with cancer) but they really don’t need any additional publicity. As I was driving through Old Katy on Saturday November 12, 2011 I spotted the Christ Clinic of Katy office and decided they would make the perfect group to select for this contest. I believe this organization pretty much works without much public notice or any fanfare.
Christ Clinic is a non-profit medical clinic who serves the uninsured and those living with no other government assistance in Katy, Texas and these folks also have acute or chronic health care needs. The Clinic opened during year 2000 and has taken care of over 7,000 patients. Every year the need for the clinic’s services is increasing at a very rapid rate as most of us can image. The Clinic is located at 5504 First ST Katy Texas (Old Katy). The cost of health insurance raises each year increasingly high rate each year and each year more and more individuals and families lose their health insurance benefits.
This facility is staffed by ALL volunteer medical staff and medical assistants. Can you believe in this day and age that medical professionals are totally volunteering their time and efforts to help a group of folks who need that are in dire need of that help? The Clinic has Class –D pharmacy and a very large Medical Assistance Program (MAP). MAP function is to coordinate drug assistance programs with big drug companies who have decided to help Christ Clinic serve their patients. The MAP work entails a large effort involving numerous volunteer man hours.

The Clinic is always in need of volunteer help. The work these volunteers provide per the Clinic management is absolutely priceless and allows the Clinic to continue to operate and actually grow in the numbers of folks they help. Christ Clinic depends on local community support and the support of numerous foundations, corporations and anonymous donors.
Christ Clinic provides the Katy community with tireless medical assistance to those folks who are in the most need for help. Their efforts are having a major positive affect on this entire community. My hat is off to this fine completely non-profit group who just gives to the Katy community and expects nothing in return and only asks for support to keep itself running. I cannot think of another group that needs the recognition and support more than Christ Clinic.
If you or your family would like to help Christ Clinic continue its very important mission and work go their web site to leave a donation.
