Albuquerque’s Old Town Holiday Stroll

Friday, December 2, 2011 Begins 4 p.m.

Albuquerque Old Town Christmas

The yearly lighting of Albuquerque's Old Town Christmas Tree kicks off a great evening of live entertainment, music, dining, silent auction, shopping and more all within walking distance around the Old Town Plaza.  Enjoy the glow of the luminarias.  Santa and his helpers have made plans to attend the Old Town Stroll making this event is great for the entire family!  Pet’s on lead please.

Purchase a lapel pin for $8.00 and receive discounts, free gifts or special offers from participating merchants.

Proceeds from the lapel pin sales go directly to the local charity, The Storehouse, serving Albuquerque families in need.

A concert at San Felipe de Neri Church in the center of Old Town will present area musicians who will create a festive atmosphere with a performance of light classical, popular favorites and Christmas music. The music will heard though out  Albuquerque’s Old Town’s Plaza via speakers. Something for everyone is to be found at Albuquerque’s Old Town Holiday Stroll.

We are planning on going to at least one event this weekend. But, we are picking and choosing which ones we are going to based on who is calling it a holiday tree or a Christmas tree. Sorry PC crowd, we aren't coming your event.

Oh thank God! I found a blog! I'm falling asleep and time is running out for me. It's good to re-blog, it brings good cheer and points to all.

I love holida parades. I've attended Joan Cox's Denver parade and ice skated while chestnuts, yeah, really, seriously!  I almost cried, it's a girl thing.

This year we attended caroling on the river in San Antonio. It was 60 degrees so the manager put blankets out on each chair; that's cold for south Texas. Funny, very funny right?  Good night. Winding down.

Honesty, Integrity, Results, Experienced. HIRE Me!

Hi Cheryl,  Wish you could come join us, would be fun to show you around town.  I know you will enjoy your festivities as well!

Marge,  This sounds like a wonderful family tradition indeed! Brings everyone together and to finally settle in for the feast..I love that part!

Hi BLiz,  I hope you get the chance to make it one day.  It really is one of the Big Events for Old Town.  Just glad to know you have experienced our little bit of history in the area.

Ron and Alexandra,  Its fun blogging with those that have seen or experienced Old Town Albuquerque and its historical flair.

Hi Dee Dee,  You know it can incredibly mild where a light jacket is plenty of miserably cold.  You just have to bundle appropriately and drink plenty of hot coffee or cocoa.

Hi Laura,  Glad you like the photo, wish I could capture the entire feel of the event, Video will be next technology to tinker with.

Hi Doug,  It thought the Lapel pin idea was excellent, show support towards the Charity and fundraiser.  Should be a good time for all.

Marilyn,  It does bring in a good crowd and stimulates the economy for Old Town.  Its all very festive and and just good fun!

Hi Joanne,  Always nice to see you!  I'm not sure how tall the tree is but guessing 50'. They decorate with a utility truck and boom.

Hi Anita,  I know the Storehouse is a great charity that feeds a lot of needful families!

Roger,  Should be a good event and for a respectable charity!

Hi Toni,  The Storehouse really is a great group working to feed those in need.

Debbie,  Should be fun indeed!

Roy,  We would love to have you and Delores come along!

Joshua,  Should be a good evening, hopefully not too cold!

Karen,  Glad someone takes the initiative to pull these things together. We need more humanitarians!

HI Jennifer,  I bet you tie your home for sale beautifully during the event.  You smart to use the existing traffic and event to promote your listing.  Good luck to you!

Hi Chris Ann, I bet they would love the event and the stroll. Say Hi the family from us fellow Querquians..I have no idea if that's a real word..LOL

HI Debb,  We will have a good time indeed! May be a bit crowded!

HI Todd,  I completely understand your preference on events. Im not sure what the PC event is?

Hi William,  I know your will enjoy your December Nights event!  Go and have a great time!

HI Gary,  Its great to have your company and comments.  The is a very festive and colorful event in Old Town Albuquerque.

Hey Belinda,  This event is a win win for all!

Larry & Sheila,  I like your tie in..Enchanting event!  Since New Mexico is the Land of Enchantment!  Thanks for always sharing!

Marco,  That structure is a two story complex that dates back many many years.  Full of unique shops both upstairs and down.  There is typically an outdoor band playing, a large fountain behind that tree etc.  Almost like the set of an old western movie!

Hi Jenean,  We would love to have you.  Just give us the word and we will find something to get into!

Hello Michael,  It should be a fun event with a great turn out, the economy needs the surge!

Cathy,  I love San Antonio and the River walk.  I have never been for Christmas but it has to be magical.  Provided you can tolerate the extreme 60 degree cold night..LOL  Its gets colder than that here on our summer nights.. Very funny!

HI Vickie,  The is the center piece of the event for sure but there is so much more to see and do!  Come on over from Dublin, we will show you around..:0)
