the most supportive person I know - Russel Ray, southern CA home inspector
I read this post from Julie Vosmik about Russel Ray. He is such a generous and helpful person and I would hate if anyone missed out on his posts so that's why the re-blog.
One of the great reasons to belong to ActiveRain is the wonderful members who are so supportive of others. I'd like to, ONCE AGAIN, thank Russel Ray.
There is a reason he's at the top of the leaderboard - he writes wonderfully informative blogs AND he constantly supports other ActiveRain members and members of his community. Tonight, I'm going to tell you about yet another time he helped me.
I wrote a blog about being "up sold" by a plumber who had come highly recommended to me. See, this plumber tried to insist I install a $150 part to bring the unit up to code. After some checking, it was a $35 part and is not a REQUIREMENT. I also sent Russel an email asking his advice as there is no other home inspector I trust more. Russel confirmed what my local inspectors said which is that it's not "code" and not really required.
Here's the thing - Russel will not get much if any business from me - he's in southern California and I'm in Scottsdale, Arizona. But, he ONCE AGAIN took the time to answer my questions. To me, he is the ultimate ActiveRainer with his help and his willingness to help a fellow Rainer for free. If you're not subscribed to Russel Ray's blog, you should - he's AWESOME. So, I'm hoping that this blog will generate some more business for Russel Ray in his southern California home inspection market. It's my payback for the free things he's given me.
