George Washington Reviewed His Troops On Its' Steps

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Executives
Since it was built in 1772 many members of the congregation obviously played a role in the events that led up to America's Independence

The tomb of the Unknown American Revolutionary War Soldier is in the church cemetery as is the burial site of Dr. Craik, George Washington's personal physician.

Arthur and I were members for several years. He served as Head Usher and said he would imagine himself seating early patriots. Sitting in a pew for "Sunday Meeting" was an awesome experience for us.

When he retired from military service General Washington reviewed his troops from the landing in front of the church

Many of your recent photos resemble early buildings built in our town, Karen.  The revolution was certainly an exciting time.

Wishing you and your family a very Happy New Year!

When we lived in Virginia, these old historic buildings were the ones we loved to tour.  So much history.
