Confessions from a Video Holdout
My name is Christine and I am a holdout on the use of videos. I have my reasons.
I know....the future of real estate is in video. Well, first of all, I am not a complete holdout. I have made two videos introducing myself:
However, without having listings, I find it difficult to come up with things to video. I guess I could do a tour of Canton but the other aspect is time limitation. And also lack of a video camera - although I suppose my iPad would suffice.
I think the main reason, however, is that I am not a huge fan of watching videos. I lke it for sharing a musical or other performance of sorts or even for a virtual tour of a house....but those are more of a slideshow than video. We never even bought a video camera when our kids were little. Pictures seemed to have sufficed
But the main reason is those "how to" videos! Just count me out! There, I have said it! If I am trying to figure out how to do something, I would much rather have directions that I can refer to rather than having to keep going back to watch and re-play the video and try remember what steps 4 and 5 were. Written directions are much easier to follow and remember and refer back to. 9 times out of 10 I just will not click on the video.
The other thing is quite often I may be working somewhere where using the volume is not welcome. Most of the time, my computer is on mute.
I know I need to get over it....but I feel much better for having put it out there.
