This past Saturday the citizens of Glenn Heights volunteered to clean up their city streets. There was a great turn out of 50 volunteers. We noticed this year the streets were not as dirty as the first year. This leads us to believe that our efforst are paying off.
The estimates are in- 2070 lbs of litter was picked up from the streets and disposed of properly. Wow!
225 hrs of work was put in by the volunteers. A big thank you to the city staff for helping make this event run smoothly and without incident.
Residents also had the opportunity to take debris, household items, and electronics for disposing of to the dump.
Afterward, volunteers were served lunch and received a free tshirt. This is how we show our appreciation for our volunteers.
