As we travel up and down rural roads, we see more and more changes.
We have passed this barn innumerable numbers of times over more than thirty years.
The area around it is developing at a rapid rate.
It now has a new elementary school on one side and a huge church on the other.
For many years now the structure has been showing signs of deterioration.
It is clearly deserted now and there is a sense of sadness about it. It screams to us from the mid pasture locale.
I have wondered about the how's and whys of its abandonment. Where did the people who loved it and maintained it go?
How many happy animals did the structure protect over how many years? What changed?
One can not help but see that this barn is in its twilight days. It has served someone well. It has stood thru many years of storms.
We wonder when a wind or other natural disaster will bring the remaining structure down .
It looks as though it may be too late to save the structure. That looks like a huge waste of material.
Since the structure sits in the middle of a large acreage fringed with large trees, the land probably will be either a small development soon. There will probably be a Realtor in this property's future. This land has a lot of potential . Someone is paying taxes and getting nothing back!
I wonder if the barn feels as forlorn as it looks. We hope not. It still makes a striking statement about its past. Being a part of history seems to come with a price.
It is our hope that the owners get to enjoy their memories along with a substantial profit.
