The sun is always shining, no matter how bad the storm looks

After every storm the sun will smile; for every problem there is a solution, and the soul's indefeasible duty is to be of good cheer.

William R. Alger

This is a quote I found today because I was looking for way to tell my son that there is a solution for everything you just need to look for it rather than get upset and be mad at the world for what is a temporary situation.

Great advice Todd and one feels so much better actually doing something to solve a problem, rather than bemoaning it. You are a great Dad.

Hi Todd, The only proof you need to verify the statement that the sun shines even though we see the storm clouds is to take any commercial flight above 20,000 ft and the sun is shing from sun up to sun down. We all need to be reminded of this now and then.

Todd: Great lesson. Being a Dad has its challenges and taking the time to be there for your son to find just the right words to express your thoughts is priceless. You both got something special out of it...

Excellent advice Todd!  One of the things I always did with my kids when they had a problem was to keep them by my side doing things.  At their young age their problems seem monumental and that they cannot overcome them, by keeping them by your side they start to see that this too shall pass and they start to open up more and can talk it out.  And now that they are older, they come to me to talk it over on their own - that's a good feeling.  Your son will thank you one day for being there for him!

Hi Todd,

Great advice and I love the photo. You are so right, a storm goes away and the sun comes out and life is good again. I feel that way about sundown too. You could have had the absolute worse day ever but tomorrow when the sun rises, things look better, you feel much better after a good rest and usually the problem is resolved.

PS. I love rainstorms.
