I stopped down at Olympia Farmers Market this morning to get some cherries - really that was all I intended to buy was some cherries. They are Washington grown, and so absolutely scrumptious that whatever quantity I buy leaves me wondering WHY didn't I get more.
But first....I had to stop a while to listen to the musicians entertaining the crowd and even getting a few people up in front of the stage to dance a bit.
And then I got sidetracked admiring the lush display of fresh veggies - just the range of colors seem to shout summertime!
OK....made it to the stand where I intended to buy cherries....and sidetracked yet again. How can I resist tasting some of the different varieties of peaches for sale?
And look - the tomatoes are in! I've got some green ones in my garden, but ripening is still a ways off, and these look just impossible to resist.
I'm revising my grocery list as I go, knowing that including some of these fresh purchases for dinner tonight is too tempting to miss out on.
On down the aisle of the market, and the amazing fragrance of lavender calls me over to just breathe in their perfume.
I couldn't even head to my car with my goodies without getting sidetracked one more time, admiring this artwork on display and for sale.
Olympia Farmers Market is just such a feast of goodies for the senses - and oh, we will have a yummy fresh dinner tonight!!
