I shot this photo at a butterfly garden at an individual's residence in Carolina Cove on Lake Livingston. The family planted butterfly friendly flowers to attract butterflies, and it worked! They were EVERYWHERE. There was also an ample supply of big, fluffy, bumble bees. YIKES! Stay tuned for more butterfly shots. ☺

Joni:  Where on earth do you find such beautiful subjects to photograph?  The perfect flower and the perfect butterfly, together at just the right moment in time.  Stunning.

Doug: In a friend's back yard. They have a butterfly garden. I stood and shot a zillion photos trying to capture it while the wings were open. That's my super sensitive, top secret technique. Take a bunch, hope for one really good one! HA!

Morgan: Thank you! See my super sensitive, top secret technique in the comment above to Doug! HA!

Roy: Thank you. Love the purple flower!

I'm trying to get some video of butterflies and humming birds this summer, they are both elusive. This is a fabulous shot Joni. Love the "planking" analogy. Made me chuckle.

Joni:  What an incredible picture.  You must have had a ton of patience to be able to wait for this butterfly to pose for you like this.  Very, very nice.
