The Pottery Show at Lockbridge Pottery Studio, Meadow Bridge WV

The Pottery Show at Lockbridge Pottery Studio, Meadow Bridge WVI attended the Lockbridge Pottery Studio Labor Day Show.  It was a beautiful day for a ride in the country.  While driving on I-64 I noticed to my amazement that the leaves from the trees are already turning the bright red and golden colors.  I was driving so couldn’t get a photo.

wall vase pottery by Jeff DiehlI arrived around 3 pm, and the show special, a new porcelain wall vase, priced at $48.00 , was sold out.  Not to worry, Jeff Diehl, will be making more and promised to save one for me.

Lazy Susan pottery by Jeff DiehlOf course you know when I attend a pottery show I have to purchase a piece of pottery....so my purchase was a Lazy Susan for my kitchen table.

Below are photos of some of the pottery that was for sale at the show.

Rebecca, I love local potteries.  A few summers ago we visited north west Georgia and several potteries on the way there and I was amazed at the craft.  I've been fascinated ever since.  I'll definitely have to keep an eye on this one.

Cool pottery Rebecca... Where's you Lazy Susan?  Hard to believe the trees are already turning.  We are planning a road trip to Northern Alabama in October in hopes of catching the color .......Sounds like we'll miss out.  Ugh.  Might as well fly if the color is gone.

Just gorgeous.  I assume because the trees are so beautiful NOW, that means they are starving for water and dropping their leaves early because of the drought.

Neat stuff, Rebecca!  During the 1970s I was very interested in pottery, and I actually owned a potter's wheel and kiln.  I haven't dabbled with it in years.  However, a trip back to Lancaster County, PA's Amish country has peaked my interest once again.  I may take a class so I can have access to a wheel and kiln.  I doubt I'd accumulate all the equipment once again.  I still have my tie dye shirts and macrame tools though:-)

Rebecca, That is some nice looking pottery!  We are fortunate, the University here has a nice pottery class, so we get to look at and purchase some of their projects!  It is amazing how talented these artists are!

Rebecca, buying pottery from the artist is something I've done a lot. Going to a pottery show could be hazardous to my wallet...great localism.

Oh Rebecca, I was invited to this on Face book, but obviously live too far away! I'm so glad you got to go and see everything! I probably would have spent too much if I had been there! Dangerous! =D
