Some of the special programs include:
Music- The music program at T.S. Cooley provides the students with opportunities for creativity and self expression. Students in Grades 4 & 5 may elect to be a member of the Performing Choir. Music is offered daily to students in K-3rd grade and students in Grades 3-5 may take Piano lessons as part of the Enrichment Curriculum.
Art- Art is taught twice a week to all students in Grades K-5. Students in Grades 4&5 may elect to take Advanced Art for their Enrichment Period.
French- The French program at T.S. Cooley provides a conversational French curriculum to students in Grades Kindergarten through five. Various methods are used to integrate Art, Music, Math, and Language to help the students develop a French vocabulary.
Dance- Jazz class is offered to students in grades K-4th grade once a week during their P.E. class time
T.S.Cooley Elementary Magnet School was recently recognized as a 2012 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education and is the first Calcasieu Parish School to receive this award!
