Don't be Social on Facebook while Negotiating a Sale or Purchase
Are you putting your home on the market? In the process of writing an offer to buy a home? Considering offers written on your home?
Don't make the mistake of discussing home purchase offers or negotiations on Facebook.
Sometimes clients think that posting to someone on Facebook is private-it is not. Keep silent in person and online until the deal is closed!
Then you can smile, talk, blog and post reviews about that fabulous real estate agent that gave you such good advice when selling, buying and negotiating on the home.
Don't be Social on Facebook while Negotiating a Sale or Purchase
Facebook is a social outlet for all the big events in your life, including the fact you have your house for sale and buying a property.
If you are a savvy Real Estate agent, you can find the buyers or sellers (whichever client you are NOT representing) and see what they are saying about the transaction! Have you reminded your clients to zip it! Remaining silent on Facebook or any other social media is part of my reminders, along with no purchasing prior to signing, for buyers.
DO NOT TALK ABOUT THE NEGOTIATION ON THE INTERNET! I know it is difficult not to get excited tell your friends via Facebook, but PLEASE CONTAIN YOURSELF.
I have visited the agent's site while during negotiations, and seen comments made --- not good for your clients!
It is exciting buying a house, negotiating the sale, but it is even more fun to post AFTER you closed on that beautiful home.
