Waking up early is my favorite thing, even on a Sunday, it's my time to have a cup of coffee while gathering my thoughts and putting my daily plan together, in the quite calm before the rest of the world wakes up. I was thinking this morning that real estate is made up of a bunch of little things, little tasks all not overly important in their own right but put together they are each an important link to hold the process together.
Yesterday I called a few leads, ran to a house to put on a vendor box so the propane company could go into the house to light the furnace. My husband came with me to post some open house signs to prep for my open house today. I have printed flyers for my open house and filled the helium tank ready to fill balloons. So many task that filled my day. Which seems like it is never ending. The key of course, is leverage. I know I talk about leverage a lot but it is really the one thing that can solve all issues.
Today at my open house I am going to make a list of all the "little things" and put a job proposal together for my son. He is 18 years old, and graduated this year. Before he goes off to college he wants to work for me this summer.
Here are a few things I could leverage through my daughter:
- printing flyers
- lockboxes on and off
- run to the hardware store when needed
- attach open house "coming soon" signs
....on and on! Will give you an update on my final list on my next post.
