The Austin area Central Texas Ballooning Association will be holding their 23rd annual Lake Travis Flight Saturday August 3rd. The hot air balloons will be launched from Mansfield Dam Park. The balloons will be launghed at sunruse which will be about 6:45 AM. The balloons will fly from the park to wherever the wind blows them for an hour and then the pilots will return to the park for a tailgate party.
Besides being a fun Austin, Texas event for everyone this is a great opportunity to take some colorful pictures of the balloon and Lake Travis. I will be there along with a couple hundred other people from the Austin Photography Meetup group. To geta a parking spot and find a location to take pictures I will get to the park at 6AM. After the balloons have launched I will try to gauge the wind and find another location to take more photos mid-flight.
