Regardless of the facts showing the positive numbers that we're seeing here in NC, Buyers are shying away from the market because of the national 'news' and the hype that we're in the midst of a recession. We are a bit slower than we were in 2005 - 2007 when our appreciation was at an all-time high (20+%), and now, in NC, standing just over 4%. Any way that you look at the numbers, now is a great time to buy and I'll show you why!
In a recent economic report, North Carolina (among others) was sited as one of the states that is fairing quite nicely in recent months compared to a number of other states. Our housing numbers are one of 31(that's right, I said, 31!) states that are in the 'black' right now and our unemployment rate is quite low.
Take a look at this sample, similar to one that appeared in a TIME Magazine article in which Peter Lynch was interviewed. Mr. Lynch, a prominent financial advisor, is encouraging home buying. It is our largest investment and if you're planning to live in your home for the typical 5-year period, you're golden if you're buying now!
