The Harmonizing Health Retreat is a fun thing to do in Trimble County.
I admit, I was curious of the offerings at the Harmonizing Health Retreat.
I am in a great Keller Williams Realty class called BOLD, and was encouraged to contact vendors in the area to exchange business cards and possible referrals. So I contacted the owner, Rev. Patrice Joy Masterson to do just that. Patrice chatted with me about the networking event she was having there that night.
On the first Tuesday of every month, the retreat hosts a Women's Circle of Light group. This is a powerful networking group for women in the area. What a wonderful way to connect. Patrice invited me so I went. I had been feeling a strange pull to this place for a while anyway and it was meant to be.
I was blown away at how at home I felt there. Patrice actually came out and welcomed me in the driveway which was impressive. Then since I told her I would like to do a blog post on the place, she gave me the grand tour. She was even gracious enough to give me a tour of her home. They rent out the lower walk out level which has a bedroom, full bath, kitchen and living room and meditation room. Just outside is a lovely flower garden with gazebo. What a wonderful place for a wedding and Patrice is a licensed minister so she can officiate weddings, christenings and special events.
In the middle of the woods, Patrice and her husband Frank have created this fabulous atmosphere of introspect. Look at the photos below and you'll see what I mean. I love the different meditation areas in nature which represent qualities of compassion, joy, serenity and inner peace. She encouraged me to walk the labyrinth. It is a seven path spiral of stones and gravel, but so much more. Patrice said a Native American Medicine man had visited and commented that there is an abundance of energy there. You walk towards the middle point in a life review, releasing your negative thoughts, stored emotions and bad memories. As you walk back to the starting point the intent is to accept the abundance of goodness in your life and create a new beginning. On the third Tuesday of each month men and women are invited to come from 7-9:00pm to experience walking the Labyrinth and to learn how it can be helpful in problem solving any upsetting life challenges you may have.
While I was there, Patrice also gave me the gift of meditation. I had never done it before successfully, so I thought it was going to be difficult. But as I was concentrating on the things she told me to do, like how to breathe, I started feeling a peace come over me that lasted all evening even after the meditation was over. If it sounds like it's new, different and unusual to you, don't be intimidated by that. She does not force you to do anything you don't want to do. Just come to the meetings for the fun and networking! Again, it is on the first Tuesday of every month. I would be happy to meet you somewhere and arrive with you for the Tuesday Women’s Circle. She also has classes at the retreat and in Louisville on different topics like Reiki energy, self-hypnosis, mindfulness, stress management and sound/color/art therapies. Many of these offer CEU credit for nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and massage therapists.
