Why Would I Choose a Real Estate Team Over an Agent

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Success Realty

As a consumer, why would I do business with a team rather than an invidviual agent?  Isn't it too personal and private to be shared among even more people?  Can't I have someone who is my go-to, point of contact or shoulder to cry on if I need one?

Having worked as an individual agent, and as a part of a team I understand both perspectives.

As an individual agent I'm free to give as much personal attention as each client needs.  I'm the only one who answers phone calls or returns emails.  I'm the one who knows everything about the contract, about pertinent dates, and the one who is the support as well as the responsible party through the whole thing.  I'm also 100% occupied during every appointment - so sometimes my voicemail is all you get, and sometimes for hours on end.

As a part of a team I see the team as more like the doctor's office.  You go to the doctor who sends you to the lab to have blood drawn, or they call the x-ray tech to take pictures of your broken bone.  Still it's the doctor who talks to you about the result of those tests, right?  But the doctor probably isn't very good with a needle - not that they aren't qualified with it, they just don't do it very much and likely aren't very proficient at it - so they send you to someone who does it and is proficient.

A real estate team is kind of like that. You have your agent who will answer pertinent questions about your transaction, and will be there the whole time.  However - once you sign the contract the agent will bring it to the office, and hand it to someone who specializes in keeping track of those things...It's important everything is tracked properly for the transaction to be flawless.

Every person on our team is licensed, and that means anybody you might talk to is qualified to answer your questions.  Why doesn't the x-ray tech talk about your x-ray to you? They might show you a broken bone, but when they don't have your entire file they don't know everything going on...The doctor does.

So look at your real estate team like the licensed professionals they are.  Each person plays their role - there are listing agents, buyer agents and administrative staff.  Each person doing what they do best for your transaction to go as smoothly as possible.

That is what you want, isn't it?
