Commercial Inspection in Hobbs New Mexico. Behind schedule. Not good.

Staying on schedule is a top priority when trying to get a commercial project finished and get the property open for business.

Desert Sun Commercial Inspections reports just the facts.

I have not read the ins and outs of the contract, but there is a Thirty day window for this project. This means they cannot go over the allotted Thirty days.

As of Wednesday, They were 15 days behind schedule for the collision center.

The collision center was to be open for business on the Fist week of 2014. But it still has a couple of weeks work left to get it open for business.

Here is where the building sits as of Wednesday.

As you can see the front of the building is not finished as of to date. The Stucco is being installed but the stone work has just started on the columns.

The interior of the building is almost completely finished.

The interior is looking really good.

The shop areas have been nearly completed.

Here we have a state of the art paint booth. There are two of these already installed and ready to go to work.

Staying on time and on budget is key for any project. I had a long talk with the new Project manager on Wednesday. He is showing a bit of frustration with the lack of English the crew can speak.

I told him he would have to have a meeting with the entire crew to help things get back on tract.

If not they may be looking at being fines levied for going over the thirty days allowed.

Yes they are. There is just a ton more money involved with these commercial projects. This one is a 6.5 Million dollar job.

I was asking a number of workers about what they were doing and the time frame. None of them could speak any English.

I feel if they are working in the U.S. Then they should be able to speak English. We are needing to communicate better.
