Oro Valley, Ariz. (March 4, 2014) - According to a recent ranking published by Movoto Real Estate, the Town of Oro Valley is ranked #8 on the list of America's 10 Safest Suburbs.
"We are proud of this new distinction," commented Mayor Satish Hiremath. "The Movoto ranking affirms what we've known all along: Oro Valley is one of the safest communities in America, and we have one of the best police departments in the nation."
To produce this ranking, Movoto relied on a list of 120 places which are the largest suburbs of the 50 most populous cities in the U.S. and applied criteria, based on data from the FBI's most recent national crime report (2012). The data included: property crimes per capita, violent crimes per capita and the chances of being the victim of a crime.
