Understanding a Sellers' Timeline

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Equator.com

How well do you know your sellers’ timelines? Today I hosted the first webinar in the Ultimate Listing Agent webinar series, and discussed the timelines of today’s sellers.

Here’s some stats from NAR and Market Leader research that may astound you:

  • Sellers spend, on average, 21 months from the time they start thinking about selling their home until the transaction date.
  • Sellers spend, on average, nearly 16 months doing research about the sales process before they talk to an agent.
  • Once sellers decide to engage with an agent, it takes only an average of 9 days to select an agent–and 65% of sellers take only one day to interview agents!

This shows how important it is for agents to get in front of potential sellers during their research phase. I’ll cover the best ways to do this in the second part of the series – I hope you can join! Now that is some very interesting stats I have never heard.  I never pictured folks thinking about me for 21 months before actually calling me.  Guess I need to extend my 33 touch to a 66 touch campaign
