Do listing photos really matter?

Picture 1 was on the MLS, for 3 listings that either expired or cancelled. Average time on market for these properties amounted to 200 days -- in a hot seller's market.

Picture 2 is a photo of the same property when agent 2 listed. Average time on market for these listings amounted to 22 days -- still in a hot seller's market.

If catalog companies took the same approach to merchandising and positioning as the listings in Picture 1, would companies like JC Penney, Sears, and Harriet Carter exist?

Excellent MLS photos make listings sell!

Amanda, A great photo with adequate lighting makes all the difference in the world. The second set of photos says so much more about the houses.

Great Post! Great viewpoint relating this to retailers. A picture is everything when it comes to product on the web. Oh and that interior shot is amazing!
