Today I was working on a project to add an informative page to another Realtors website about a new area he will be servicing, Pasadena. I personally don't know anything about Pasadena other than it's in the LA area. So, i did a bit of Googling to find out what the city was like, what it looked like, and what I should expect as far as landmarks and traits.

I am sad to say that it took me 3 hours of research to be able to patch together a page with 3 paragraphs of basic information about the city and a couple of publicly available royalty free pictures of the city.

For consumers out there here are some tips: if the results for "cityname real estate" don't give you sites that actually have information about your city I would advise you to got to flikr.com and look up the photos listed for that city- this will give you a laymans perspective on the city. For statistical information and history lookup their wikipedia profile and for the cities traits, I'd check out their city hall.

For Realtors, I'd recommend you get in the game and realize that resources of QUALITY information online about a city are pretty minimal. You could make a HUGE difference in a home buyers perspective by providing a quality description of the city. Include good photos, defining traits of the city and don't just copy and paste off of the city's website!
