I have lived in Tucson quite a while now - and I must admit - the month of August has been one of the hottest in years. Maybe a decade! And it isn't just 110 degree heat - it's the rain from monsoons - the humidity and just all around - well, even my pool water is hot and not refreshing!
That said, I went for a short, early morning hike (because it is just not smart to do any outdoor activity after 8am these days!) - and even though at 5am it is still 8- some degrees outside - I noticed there is an upside to all this - the desert is green, red and beautiful - it almost looks like Christmas in August!
