I originally posted this short list way back on January 1, 2009. However many new people have joined ActiveRain since then.
Blogging seems to be different for each person, but Jason Crouch is someone I definitely learned from and admired.
I hope you enjoy these six quick blogging tips! If you ever have a referral for Austin, TX please keep Jason in mind. He will take excellent care of your clients.

2008 has been a year of change. One of the biggest changes, for me, was finding ActiveRain.
I'm an internet marketing consultant. I'm always looking for things that work. As part of my research for my clients, I've done thousands of searches over the years. Earlier this year, I started noticing that listings posted to ActiveRain were coming up highly ranked on Google. That's not easy to do, so I decided to learn more. I'm glad I did!
As a result of my research, I met the man who needs no introduction: Jason Crouch. Here are a few things I've learned from him so far.
- Be real. Jason shares his real life experiences.
- Have fun! Jason includes humor in some of his posts. :)
- ActiveRain is more than SEO. Yes, the "Google juice" here is important. However, one of the huge benefits of ActiveRain is getting to know so many great people.
- Hook 'em with headlines! Think twice, or even three times, before you post. Read your headline out loud. Ask yourself: Is there a better way to grab attention?
- Be consistent. Blogging is similar to exercising. Being consistent will bring the best results. I see too many agents start strong, but then they stop. Don't make that mistake.
- Blogging is important! Build blogging into your business plan for 2009. Block out some time each week for blogging. My 2009 goal is 30 minutes for each work day, for a total of 3 hours per week.
I have a lot more to learn from Jason, but I hope these six quick pointers will be helpful.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of you!
