5 Thanksgiving Mishaps and How to Avoid Them

Why is it that the worst of disasters almost always takes place at the worst times? No one is ever pleased with unexpected mishaps especially during the holiday season where there is so much to do and so many usually around in such a small amount of time and space. This season Title Junction wants to hand you the playbook to a successful Thanksgiving.

1. Test your appliances. Just imagine it’s Thanksgiving Day, you’ve got the entire family over, and the turkey is raw and ready to be turned to a crisp brown. You turn the knobs or press the buttons on your oven and…nothing. What are you going to do? Checking appliances days prior like your oven, fridge, or even microwave may aid in avoiding any baking breakdowns.

2. Clean out your fridge. There are such an abundance of added ingredients into all of the food you and your family may be making that sometimes it’s nice to grab what you’ve already have stocked up. However, if one of your ingredients or additives is unnoticeably outdated, it could be a recipe for disaster. Clean out your fridge to ensure that everything you use is fresh.

3. Stock up your restrooms. Make sure that family and friends don’t have to creep out to the living room to tell you they can’t find any toiletries or towels. Stocking up your restrooms with plenty of soap, papers, and personal items will keep your many guests from searching through cabinets for any needed items.

4. Prep for “just in case” instances. You can never be too prepared when hosting your holiday party. That being said, be aware of where your first aid kit is. If a child falls or an adult takes a tumble, you may find it useful to have a set of band aids, gauzes, and minor medications to resort to.

5. Stock up on throw-away containers. Thanksgiving makes for great leftovers! Make sure you and your guests can all exchange your favorite dishes by providing cheap throw away containers. If for some reason you don’t use them all – use them to take for lunch or in the future for your leftovers!

These Thanksgiving hacks should help give you a safe and happy holiday to remember for the right reasons!
