An Original Art and a Story
A Smile For His Mother
About 40 years ago, when I became a Christian, I saw a 3D type of picture at an open house and I liked it so much I asked an artist to recreate it for me by my description. He didn't even come close but I've loved the painting all these years none the less. The artist Gregory Tougas of Fargo ND titled the painting, A Smile For His Mother.
The artist took longer to deliver the portrait to me then he expected. When he did deliver it he was very apologetic. He explained to me: "Bob, I was not a Christian when you asked me to paint this for you but putting that blood on his face was the hardest thing I ever had to do." That blood changed his life and he had a hard time giving up the painting because of how it affected him.
I have tried to contact Gregory since but have been unable to find any trace of him anywhere. If you know where Gregory Tougas is please let him know that even 40 years later the painting hangs on my wall and still moves me today.
