Save A BLOG Post For Later
Oh the GEMS that are found on ActiveRAin!
Have you ever read a blog post that seems to have a ton of great ideas? IF you are an active member of ActiveRain, of course you have. That was a rhetorical question. On any given day after reading a quality post, maybe I might want to read it again sometime? Maybe it is a post on something I would use later today, or maybe something that could teach me a new skillset. It could be a topic that I know I won't use this month, but I know that blog post could come in handy maybe three months from now. In the past I have started to read articles only to realize that I have NO time to do this now, but I may want to be sure that I come back to this great content in the future. The problem is two fold. One I need to remember what the post is about, and two who wrote it.
In the past I would leave it to memory. Now I know better. I never thought that I needed to bookmark a post, and I rarely paid attention to the process. Lately I have found this tool a major plus. Coming back to a blog can provide more value when I am ready to use the info. Finding it is not always an easy task. This photo shows you where they live. At the end of each blog you will see a button that says "bookmark" click that and this is where they go for your use in the future.
I love reading blog posts on ActiveRain that are worthwhile and provide great tips. AR has a little tool that is most helpful to put this blog post in my pocket so to speak. Just a quick click of the mouse says to AR that I like the post, and I want to save it for later. Why is this so valuable? Because if you are like me, two weeks or two months from now I will find a need for that info. I may not be able to easily find it as it has scrolled far down the blog roll. I may have thought that one member wrote it, only to find out that I was wrong. By bookmarking the blog post I am able to find it much more easily and keep it at my finger tips.
Funny thing is that I have been on ActiveRain for 4 years now and I have just started using this tool. Maybe I wasn't paying attention or maybe I was just too busy? Not really sure, but why stress. Bookmark a post that looks to have value today and use it as a reference in the future. Review your list periodically and tweak as needed.
I have recently started using this tool and I am finding that when I want to work on a particular issue I spend much less time looking for answers. I already have some great articles to work from as my fellow rainers love to share a ton of the good stuff.
Another ActiveRain blogging tool. YAY . I love it when things are easy peasy.
