God Made A Dog
This video has been out for a long time. My dog has been gone for some time too. But in honor of my beloved dog who stood by every member of my family's side through good times, and the hardest times of all, I dedicate this video to all animal lovers in the hopes that the video can be preserved for those who need it the most. I pray it keeps going because it hits me right through my heart.
When I watch this video, it brings tears to my eyes and reminds me how good God is to make a dog and put it here on earth. Sometimes, the best thing that can happen to any person or family is to have a loyal companion. Here are some examples of the type of dog I had that were some of the happiest and saddest days of my life. God made a dog just like He made footprints in the sand. If you haven't seen this video, I hope you enjoy it. If you have, please don't complaint about having seen it before. Honor the dogs for they have a higher purpose.
It was just another bitterly cold and snowy day a few days before my husband passed away. He was in the hospital and I was on my way to visit him. My coat dragged to the floor. As I was about to open the front door, my dog climbed inside, underneath my coat. He stood up and wrapped his front paws around my leg. He would not let go. I don't know why I did it, but I took the dog with me to the hospital. Yes! I smuggled him inside and broke the hospital rules. The dog stayed quiet and close to my heart. As soon as I got inside the hospital room, I closed the door and my dog jumped out from under my coat. He jumped on top the hospital bed, and snuggled next to my husband. There he stayed until the next day when we left. Nurses came and they left all night long and pretended they didn't see my dog. 24 hours later, my husband died.
My daughter loved our dog. When she was about eight or nine years old, we didn't allow the dog to jump on top the bed or furniture. One day she wasn't feeling well and stayed in bed sick. When I checked to see how she was doing, she was sound asleep. Her bed was covered in stuffed animals. Suddenly, my dog sneezed. He was hiding with all the stuffed animals. I pretended I didn't know he was there.
It was an even worse and bitterly cold and freezing day in Lake Villa, IL. I was working at Abbott Laboratories. The date was Martin Luther King's day. My son was off from school; my daughter was already grown up, attending Viterbo University in LaCrosse, WI. My son was at the car dealership waiting for them to finish servicing my car. When he came home. He had an eerie feeling something wasn't right. He opened up the door and the fire caused a combustion. My son called out for the dog, but the dog did not come running. The flames were already spreading but he had to find the dog. He found our dog at the far corner of my daughter's bedroom, hiding underneath her bedspread that he pulled off the bed to save himself from the fire. My son rescued him from our burning house.
For six months, my son and I were homeless. We lived in a hotel until we had a place to live after the house fire. Our dog never barked or growled. He was the most gentle dog you ever knew. His favorite toy was a tiny stuffed animal that he had since he was a puppy. Not one piece of stuffing ever came out that toy. Yet the housekeepers at the hotel were afraid of my dog and would never go inside our room when my son and I weren't there. They said our dog was a holy terror and they were afraid of him. Our Vet said he believed he was protecting us from further harm or misfortunes. He was just the most loyal dog we ever had.
"God Made a Dog. Dog spelled backwards is God!"
