Pigging Out On A Sunday Afternoon

What a GREAT Sunday to be out with the pigs (guinea pigs, that is).

Me and the pigs

Titus and Hershey enjoyed a big meal today (I restrained myself). I thought if I had 50 of these little guys I wouldn't need to mow the lawn... that thought passed quickly.

My opinion... guinea pigs are excellent pets but I recommend only owning one. Like a cat, if you don't clean up after them things get pretty stinky in short order.

If you are trying to sell your home any pet can be a "stinky" problem, even fish and birds can turn off the one person who would otherwise purchase your home. Once you list your home it may be time to find a friend, relative, or kennel to care for your pets until you have sold your home.

That is one pet we never had at our house. I wouldn't know how to care for them.

They are easy to care for Debbie Reynolds but they need a lot of cleaning up after (there is a reason they are called pigs)

Hi Bob "RealMan" Timm ,  I remember when my kids had a guinea pig years ago. Now that you mention it, they were always having to clean out the stinky cage.  Great tie-in to Real Estate.

Thanks Larry Johnston , funny thing is Hersheys cage needs cleaning every 3 days but Titus can go a week (as far as smell goes). It seems like they poop about once a minute however.

With the summer heat of Texas, smelly pets are unwelcomed! They are very cute but.... I don't think I could own one.

What a fun post to read today!

If (and that is a BIG if) the kids would clean the cages every other day you would never know we had guinea pigs Patricia Feager

Good advice.   I know an agetn that showed a home with a large parrot.  The client got bit and nearly lost a fiinger.  Best have them gone

Having once owned a Cockatoo I can relate to that story William Feela . My "Sid" could be very ornery at times.

Excellent analogy, Bob... and loved your photo, too. Can't imagine a lawn swarming with guinea pigs eating away, though.

I can imagine it Nina Hollander but it would be a nightmare.
