My seller said something was taking down bird feeders on their deck.

I set up a Game Trail camera and as suspected it was a large Raccoon.

I then set 2 live traps, baited with Jelly...

In the morning he was in the trap.

I took him some miles away and hope he doesn't come back.

Why didn't I finish him off when I had the chance...?

Raccoons are protected and have a season in which they can be hunted and trapped.

A fine and loss of hunting privileges just is not in  the cards for me.

I don't blame you for that William.  I hope he doesn't come back to the listing.

That's good to know. I am sure the raccoons appreciate that as well. Thankfully it was not hunting and trapping season.

William, Good job, he was just doing what anything would be doing, looking for easy meals, given the need.  If you weren't going to make stew or a hat out of him, let him find another meal somewhere else, far away.

I hope he does not come back Bill, but if he does then drop him off in the yard of your local game warden next time.

We "caught" on a wildlife cam a raccoon drinking nectar out of a hummingbird feeder last summer.  We couldn't help but laugh - who would have thought it?
