Homes for Sale in The Galleria Houston, TX 77056 77057

Welcome to The Galleria!

Why Do People Live Here?

The Galleria is a bustling neighborhood of single family homes, townhomes, condos, and apartments that are conveniently located just 10 miles outside of Downtown Houston. In the summer, it's not uncommon to see neighborhood kids playing and riding in the streets of the quaint little pockets in the city.

There is a good mixture of both the hustle and bustle of the city as well as quiet and tucked away so that residents don't feel like the urban center of Houston is knocking on their door all day everyday.

What's Going on Nearby the Galleria Neighborhood?

Hang out in The Galleria Mall

The Galleria is the shopping and business area of the city. A couple of the businesses that are operating here are Schlumberger Oilfield Services and Marathon Oil on San Felipe Street. Just about every kind of conceivable shopping/eatery are within walking distances.

The Galleria Mall is just down the street on Westheimer and is a haven for shopaholics. The Galleria Mall houses over 400 stores/restaurants including:

  • Urban Outfitters
  • Apple
  • Chanel
  • Del Frisco’s Grille

There is an indoor ice skating rink for anyone who wants to give it a go! You can get a better view or just people watch from the 2nd floor. I promise you'll get a couple of laughs in. Ice at the Galleria offers classes for beginners and for the advanced as well.

For an awesome view, head over to Williams Tower(the building with the beacon) - 2800 Post Oak. You can take the connecting tunnel to the Galleria or just take a quick drive around the corner from Nordstrom Galleria. I hear the view on the 56th floor is amazing. There is no tour or anything like that but if you're adventurous, just get lost in there, you're bound to find a nice view.

Relax by the Gerald D. Hines Water Wall

Gerald D. Hines Water Wall - 2800 Post Oak, is down on the ground level of the Williams Tower if you want to just kick back and relax or have a picnic. Just don't stand in one place too long by the water wall, you WILL get slightly soaked. If you want to come here on the weekend, do so in the morning. You are forewarned, it does get a bit crowded with photographers for wedding pictures, engagement pictures, and etc.

Have a little sweet tooth? Head on over to Centre at Post Oak. Cacao & Cardamom - 5000 Westheimer Ste 602, can settle your craving with their artful chocolatier decadence. Cafe Annie - 1800 Post Oak Ste 1760, is another place worth mentioning. Serving up American-Southwestern bites and classic drinks. They do take reservations and it is a place you would want to dress to impress ladies and gents. P.S. I hear their happy hour is awesome.

A couple of other places in the Galleria: Dish Society - 5740 San Felipe Ste 100, the Pork Hash is a must try and for those of you who enjoys strong and bold coffee, I would snag a couple of Caphin from the fridge. Harvest Organic Grille - 1810 Fountain View Dr, you cannot go wrong with anything here! The Power Juices are made fresh to order, Campechana is one of my favorites there. Portions are pretty big so come hungry!

Tanglewood Park & Dog Park - 5801 Woodway,
offers a huge lot with benches, picnic tables, and gazebos. The park also has a gated children's playground, tennis courts, baseball field(which can also be used for soccer practice), and a dog park where dogs can come with their human companions and "ruff" around if they'd like. Dogs of all sizes are welcome!

For your grocery shopping needs, Whole Foods on Post Oak is available as well as Randalls on San Felipe. Post offices and banks are on almost every corner if not 1 or 2 blocks away. Everything is close by here in the Galleria!
