The National Park Service is having a birthday .... and you receive the presents!

August 25 - August 28, 2016 is party time, honoring 100 years of the National Park Service. Those 4 days entry to all National Parks is FREE for everyone.

Check out the NPS web site to learn more, to find a list of parks. Plan your weekend to take advantage of this FREE gift and perhaps find a new park to explore.

Pinnacles National Park, California(Pinnacles National Park, California--one of the newest national parks)

Hi Lottie Kendall Being of the "older persuasion" I have one of those cards that the National Park Service sells that allows for FREE entry to all National Parks for life. I use it regularly.

Hi Jennifer Mackay - I hope you get a chance to visit one on their free days!

Jessie Cochran - every year the NPS has a handful of days with free entry, a great idea to make the parks more accessible for all.

I do, too, Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, Broker, Tacoma Washington

Hi Noah Seidenberg my picture is taken from the West side parking lot at Pinnacles National Park (used to be a National Monument.) Great hiking in that area, southeast of Salinas in Monterey County.

Hello Bill Roberts - yes, we have a Golden Eagle Pass, too. But this weekend everyone has the chance to visit, entry fee free.

Hi Laura Allen, Lake Tahoe - Truckee Real Estate for Sale www.TahoeLauraLuxuryHomes.com - I try to post a message once a year talking about the free admission day(s). I don't remember an entire free weekend before, though.

I have Saturday off this week, so we might, indeed, visit a national park.

I had no idea.....it may not be the best time to visit if you don't like crowds though. LOL

I'll have to check into it! Thanks.

LOL! If my post get tens of thousands of views, parks could be crowded, Sharon Tara! Actually, little press is given to our national parks.
