Hiring the right real estate agent is important. Here's an example. I last week I took a look at all the active listings in my own neighborhood. Not a single one had the correct elementary school listed, and one also had the wrong high school. A neighboring community of condos also had more than half incorrectly list the elementary school. ( And some of these agents are well known or "area specialists"). Why is this important? Many people search for homes based on the school. That means they could be missing out on your listing, or maybe they want the incorrectly listed school only to find out later it's not correct, and then they will be very upset.
Why does this happen. Simple, it's the agent being lazy and copying the info from other listings. He/she took a short cut instead of doing the work right.. If you want the work done right, I think you know who you should contact. By the way, the wrong elementary school listed hasn't been the elementary school for this neighborhood for about 6 years!! It was originally the school, but two new schools have been built since and the boundaries have changed twice!
