We rreally have it good nowdays compared to the primative ways years ago

I didn't even like playing football in the cold weather so I can only imagine.

That had to be a very cold winter.  We feel the cold when we go into a vacant building where it it is colder inside than outside.  Those shelters just kept them out of the snow

It's amazing & humbling the sacrifices that were made back then for what we enjoy today. My hubby's birthday is 2/22, same as Washingtons' 

We have traveled to many historic sites like where Washington crossed the Delaware. One thing I thought about was the brutal cold and the poor living conditions. No wonder so many got sick, abandoned the cause or died. That photo looks really cold.

Brrr and I was freezing when I walked my dog 57 degrees felt like it was in the 40's Endre

Things have sure changed a lot since those days.  We are all so spoiled now and expect things to always be easy.

Gloria Todor  George Washington would travel down the Delaware river to Bakers Bay & Delaire Landing to get Bread for his troops that were at Valley Forge ..   Great Post
