I will admit that when I first saw a barn door in an office building I thought it was the coolest door I had ever seen. As I do a lot of flips and remodels, I can tell you these doors are easy to install, can be very inexpensive and add value to a house instantly.
The door I have pictured in this blog is sold at Lowes for about $400. Installation will take you about 2 hours and does not require a great deal of expertise, professional installation will run about $300 additional if you require. Installing a barn door in the Phoenix market, according to Zillow, can result in a 4% market price increase. I will gladly take an extra $6,000-???? for a $400 investment.
