When it comes to taking photos of my newly listed properties I am extremely particular. I like to take my own photos unless I am using a professional photographer for the property, as we do with certain properties for various reasons. I like my listings to look a certain way as they represent me and how I do business, not just the seller and their home.
For the Active Rain Challenge in May, Dick Greenberg, asked us to take a photo and improve it using software to make it more pleasing to the eye.
(Before)
* First I cropped the photo to bring the
house closer, making it more visible.
* Then I increased the clarity
and sharpness for better definition.
* Finally I lightened the picture slightly
so it didn't appear as dark on the front
of the house.
* Then just for fun I added a frame.
(After)
Typically when I need to fix photo's I will use Ipiccy.com, Ribbet.com or the Snapseed app. I have also used Gimp.
This was a gorgeous home I had listed in Pennsylvania a few years ago. We used a professional photographer but I had snapped a few of my own photos at the time.
I also try and take enough pictures so that if any come out poorly I usually have enough to discard the ones I am not happy with. Remember, your pictures are what bring the buyers in!
