Normally when my husband leaves for work he tries to leave quietly if I am sleeping. This morning he took the time to wake me and wish me happy anniversary before he left which got the dogs to barking. Whenever they are not part of something they have to make their presence known, but that is okay with me.
Whenever you get married you always say it is for life but when you wake up and you are married 31 years it is still astounding. We have been together almost 36 years which is even more astounding. Time really does fly like they say.
Our daughter is getting married in just a few short weeks and we couldn’t ask for a better husband for her. She has a good head on her shoulders and knows that marriage takes work, compromise, empathy and lots of love.
When I first met my husband’s mother, in the first five minutes she said to me “You are going to marry my son.” I laughed (heartily) and said “Boy is that wrong!” and here we are almost 36 years later. I don’t know how she knew or what she saw but she knew it after speaking to me only a few moments.
F R E A K Y! Especially since she had never said it before to anyone else. (or so she says)
